Coconut oil, Refined

Production method: extracted from copra (dried pulp of a nut).

Composition: the oil contains lauric (up to 50%), myristic (19%), palmitic (up to 10%), stearic (3.6%) and other acids, vitamins A, E, F, minerals, etc.

Characteristics: up to a temperature of 25 degrees C, coconut oil remains in a solid state. Applied to the skin, it immediately becomes liquid. Unlike virgin oil, refined oil does not have a pronounced taste and smell.

Cosmetic properties and uses: Refined coconut oil is much less comedogenic than unrefined coconut oil. Otherwise, it almost completely retains all the beneficial properties of unrefined oil.

The oil is used in various types of cosmetic products and soap making as a moisturizing, softening, nourishing, and antiseptic component:

in moisturizing and regenerating creams for dry skin;

• in medical cosmetics that restore the damaged lipid barrier of the skin, for skin with increased irritability and peeling;
• in hand creams;
• in shampoos and hair masks;
• in soap making;
• in means for accelerating tanning, as well as in after-sun care products;
• in children's cosmetics;
• in lip balms and lipsticks.

Contraindications: individual intolerance, may contribute to the formation of comedones.
